Here you will find updates, commentary and other musings regarding current events and projects. Check back often as I hope to update this section regularly.

Profession Updates:

09/26/2007: The private practice continues to prosper thanks to some wonderful referrals from the local churches. It is wonderful to witness the power the pastoral approach carries for the healing of body, mind, and spirit. Many lives are experiencing the transformative potential of the integration of psychology and spirituality.

Religion Updates:

  Say "Hello" to Max!

11/12/2007: I returned from the journey to Le Mont Saint Michel several weeks ago

and I have finally found time to write an entry here about my experiences there. The

journey was more powerful than I could have possibly imagined. During the retreat I

wrote the equivalent of a small book in the form of 152 pages of journal entries! If

the opportunity presents itself I will publish much of it here on the website. For now I

will report that I received seven insights, I completed three key discernments, and I

experienced one revelation. The retreat was highly successful and I will forever

cherish the time spent with the Fraternitie Monastique de Jerusalem and with the

people of the village. More to come. . .

Hobby Updates:

06/21/2007: The session is well underway and the training has risen to a new level as our members embrace a deeper sense of realism and intensity.

At the opening of the session, we developed a new "standard weapon" for use in teaching the Universal System, which includes both cuts and thrusts. This weapon consists of a saber 2000 blade, a foil guard, a saber grip (for ambidexterity), and an epee pommel. The weapon can be managed like a foil for thrusting training as well as like a saber for cutting instruction.

After a minimum of six months of training and skirmishing with the "standard weapon," a student may select and begin training with the "training weapon," which is a safe and durable version of the original weapon choice. For example, one who has chosen rapier will purchase a rapier designed for skirmishing.

We are also aware that a serious duelist may want to own an authentic version of his weapon of choice. Lastly, a ceremonial sword is also an option. Essentially, this provides the opportuity for owning and maintaining a minimum of four swords:

1) The "standard weapon."

2) The "training weapon."

3) The "dueling weapon."

4) The "Ceremonial weapon."
